CHOIR INFORMATION SHEET
  • The Hark Up Choir is an all volunteer choir.
  • There is no audition to sing in the choir though there is an interview and application.
  • Music preparation and memorization is expected.
  • Solos and ensembles are auditioned and normally require consistent participation with the Hark Up Choir for at least 2-3 programs.
  • We sing a more contemporary style of music from worship to gospel to pop.
  • We sing 4-5 different “program sets” per year.
  • Singers can join/sign up for as many segments as they wish.
  • Each program set usually involves 4-8 rehearsals depending on the event.
  • Some program sets require a small fee in order to participate; Other programs are free with no fee.

THE COMMITMENT:

Hark Up Choir members are not required to attend all rehearsals, though attendance is strongly encouraged. Music is always performed by memory. Attendance is taken and absences should be communicated in advance with the Choir Manager, Lynn Moran. Solos and ensemble groups will require extra rehearsals.

The Hark Up events are sponsored by Hark Up Ministries. Hark Up Ministries (HUM) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Hark Up Ministries is committed to using creative avenues of music and other arts in bringing the gospel message of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the community. HUM encourages multi-generational and multi-ethnic participation; it strongly encourages youth participation; and is committed to creating exciting God honoring artistic events.
